Annual meeting of the DECHEMA/VDI Division Fluid Process Engineering 2025

The joint annual meeting of the DECHEMA/VDI Fluid Process Engineering Division took place from 3 to 5 February at the Ruhr University Bochum. In addition to Professor Julia Riese and Professor Eugeny Kenig, Tobias Thelen, Christopher Dechert, Patrick Franke and Dr Nicole Lutters also took part. We presented our current research work in the field of fluid process engineering at Paderborn University in two talks and on two posters. We were also involved in three contributions by the Chair of Fluid Process Engineering at the Ruhr University Bochum as a co-operation partner.

Presentation:

Christopher Dechert: "Investigation of the comparability of different methods for determining the effective interfacial area."

Patrick Franke: "Modelling reactive absorption in sandwich packings."

Poster:

Christopher Dechert: "Evaluation of the potential of electrowetting for separation columns."

Tobias Thelen: "Development of a latent heat storage system for industrial applications."

Co-operation contributions:

Presentation by Niklas Breuer from the Ruhr University Bochum on the topic: "Simulative and experimental evaluation of capacitive flexibility in a segmented column."

Presentation by Johannes Wloch from the Ruhr University Bochum on the topic: "Influence of heat integration on the scheduling of batch processes."

Poster by Torben Hochhaus from the Ruhr University Bochum on the topic: "Approaches to Determine Heat Pump Integration Potentials in Chemical Sites."
