A visit of the IFP Énergies nouvelles site in Solaize, France

The IFP Énergies nouvelles (IFPEN) is a French research institute, which is based in Rueil-Malmaison and has a further site in Solaize near Lyon. The main research areas of IFPEN are sustainable mobility, new energies and flue gas treatment. It is funded both from the state budget and from industrial projects on a fifty-fifty basis.

Prof. Eugeny Kenig and Alexander Olenberg had the possibility to visit the IFPEN site in Solaize on October 6th, 2016. First, the work of our student Rene Bertling, who completed his master thesis in the field of CFD-simulations during an internship at IFPEN, was presented. Afterwards, Prof. Kenig informed the hosts about the research activities of the Chair of Fluid Process Engineering. The visit was complemented with a guided tour at the technical center. During and after the tour, fruitful discussions about the future cooperation and further student exchanges between IFPEN and the chair took place.
