Dr.-Ing. Wilhelm Peters and Dr.-Ing. Michael Leuer (both members of the Faculty for Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Mathematics) were awarded with the Forschungspreis 2016 on the 7th of september for their innovative idea "Thermisch-elektrischer Entwurf hoch effizienter Ladegeräte für Elektrofahrzeuge". Object of the proposal is the development of an appropriate design methology for on-board chargers of electric vehicles, that captures the temperature dependent power dissipation of the various integrated electrical components in a right manner and provides an optimized thermal design of such devices for reaching the highest possible energy efficiency. In elaborating the proposal they were considerably supported by our research assistant Alexander Zibart and further project work will be done in cooperation with our group.
