Our chair congratulates Alexander Olenberg who successfully awarded his doctorate on February 11th, 2021.
The title of his completed thesis is "Investigation and optimization of structured packings using CFD simulations". After the 30 minute presentation, he successfully defended his thesis in front of the scientific jury.
Alexander Olenberg worked at our chair in the areas of projects, research and teaching from 2012. We wish Alexander all the…
The annual meeting of the ProcessNet group extraction took place online from February 04. - 05.. The research associate Christian Wecker participated and presented his recent results in the field of droplet formation and binary droplet coalescence under consideration of Marangoni convection, which result from a completed DFG project, in a lecture.
We welcome a new research assistant: Emre Acar has finished his master thesis on "design and validation of an online control concept for the coloration of polyolefine recyclates with liquid colorls" at the chair of "Kunststofftechnik" in cooperation with the company KraussMaffei Extrusion GmbH. At our chair, he will work on model-based optimization of latent cold and heat storages. We welcome Emre and wish him a successful start!
Since the middle of October, Felix Funk works as a research assistant in our group. Felix Funk studied at Beuth University of Applied Sciences Berlin and finished his master thesis on " Numerical modelling (CFD) of mixing and stirring processes with different media and concentrations". At our chair, he will work on modelling and numerical investigation of transport phenomena at moving boundaries using Computational Fluid Dynamics. We welcome…
The chair of Fluid Process Engineering welcomes a new member of the scientific staff. Thomas Ehlert finished his master thesis with the topic "Modeling of a continuous redtification with incomplete reflux in packed columns based on hydrodynamic analogies" at our chair. In his research work, he will focus on theretical investigations of the fluid dynamics ans mass transfer behavior of moving columns. We wish him every success in his work!
Since the beginning of September Sören Bernemann works as a research assistant in our group. Sören Bernemann finished his master thesis on "creation of a CFD model for the development of an innovative separating apparatus for nitrogen recovery from agricultural waste" at our chair and will continue to work on CFD simulations and apparatus development. We welcome Sören and wish him a successful start!
We welcome a new research assistant: Christopher Dechert has finished his master thesis on "Investigation of a novel packing structure using CFD methods" at our chair and will continue to work on CFD simulations in structured packings. We wish a good start and much success.
The Press and Communication Office published a news article on the university’s home page about our participation in the project “RENBuild”, which started in January this year. Within the project, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economy Affairs and Energy for a duration of four years, our group represents the Competence Center for Renewable Energy Technology, a central research institute at Paderborn University. Goal of the…
Since the beginning of April, Iman Hami Dindar joined the team of our chair as a research assistant. Iman graduated from University of Paderborn with a master thesis on "Modelling and simulation of the reactive absorption of CO2 with N-acetylglucosamine". In his research work, he will focus on amino sugars as solvents for CO2 capture and the modelling of reactive absorption processes. We wish him every success in this work!
