The Annual Assembly & International Conference of the IIW (International Institute of Welding) took place this year from 7 to 12 July in the Slovakian capital Bratislava. During this event, engineers from all over the world are given the opportunity to present their latest projects and research results. In the technical commissions with different focal points, questions around the topic of joining were discussed. Kunststofftechnik Paderborn was represented in Commission XVI Polymer Joining and Adhesive Technology by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Volker Schöppner and Sascha Vogtschmidt.
The scientists from Paderborn gave technical presentations on the following topics:
- The Influence of oxidising and inert Gases on the Weld Seam Quality in Hot Gas Welding (Max Bialaschik, presented by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Volker Schöppner)
- Vibration Welding of Components with Angled Areas in the Direction of Vibration (Sascha Vogtschmidt)
