The Distillation & Absorption Conference, organized by DECHEMA, took place from 30 August to 2 September 2026 in Salzburg, Austria. Prof. Julia Riese and our PhD student Özgün Alkim Boz attended the conference together with Prof. Eugeny Kenig.
The team presented current research from the field of fluid process engineering with one talk and two posters. Julia Riese gave a talk on "Perspectives of electrification and flexibility for Distillation and Absorption Processes". Özgün Alkim Boz presented a poster on "Integration of Direct Electric Heating with 3D-Printed Packings in Separation Columns", and Prof. Eugeny Kenig presented a poster on "Model-Based Evaluation of Sandwich Packings for Energy-Efficient Reactive Distillation" on behalf of our former PhD student Patrick Franke.
As a particular highlight, Özgün Alkim Boz received the Best Poster Award. Congratulations Alkim!
