Re­search

In close cooperation with industrial partners and other universities, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering conducts intensive research in various fields. Pioneering technologies are developed and advanced with five of its own research institutions.

With its origins in the state engineering school since 1963 and the additional scientific groups since the university was founded in 1972, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Paderborn University can look back on a proud 50-year tradition in engineering education.

UP­Bra­cing Team

Students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering have the opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge into practice as part of the UPBracing Team. The interdisciplinary team develops and manufactures its own racing cars for participation in international Formula Student events. Students can get involved from the very first semester - in design and production as well as in organisational and business fields.
