- Language partnerships ("language tandems") with Chinese students in the first and second semesters in Paderborn.

At the end of each of the three language courses (Chinese I, II, III), a written or oral examination is taken. In addition, the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK - Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) can be taken after the semester abroad (3rd semester) in Qingdao, for example. This standardised test for Chinese as a foreign language certifies language proficiency. The HSK certificate, which is recognised worldwide, is issued for language levels at six different levels. We assume that the basic level can be achieved.
