At the 70th annual conference of the Association for the Promotion of German Fire Protection (vfdb) we had the Opportunity to present our poster on knowledge management in fire departments.
Based on the results of our survey conducted in fall 2023 among German fire departments with 577 participants, we surveyed the current situation of knowledge management in German fire departments. We were able to identify a number of challenges that stand in the way of knowledge management, as well as other framework conditions.
Based on this, we at the Chair of Data Management in Mechanical Engineering are currently developing possible solutions to support fire departments in their complex work.
