Complex geometries in additive manufacturing present new challenges in terms of the dimensional deviations that occur. At KAt, methods are being developed to systematically record these deviations and classify them within existing classification systems such as IT classes. Surface roughness is also taken into account in order to establish comparable benchmarks with conventional manufacturing processes and to enable the quality of additively manufactured structures to be assessed.
