Excursion to the Tucker GmbH in Gießen as part of the lecture "Thermal joining processes

 |  Exkursionen

Within the master lecture "Thermal Joining Processes" a one-day excursion to Tucker GmbH STANLEY Engineered Fastening was offered on January 21, 2019. After an approx. 2.5-hour bus ride and a very nice reception with a company presentation by the plant manager and head of R&D, the participants gained an impressive deep insight into the focal points of the plant in Gießen during the tour of the plant by the various plant and production managers. The areas visited included plant construction (welding power sources, feeding equipment, maintenance and repair, etc.), the production of fasteners (metallic - cold forming technology, plastic - injection moulding) as well as research and development in stud welding technology. A live demonstration of the stud welding process on a robot and on stand units with subsequent intensive discussion rounded off this very interesting excursion day.

Many thanks go to Mrs. Elisabeth Gierelt and Dr. Christian Reis and the team of Tucker GmbH for the impressive day!
