Every year, the International Institute of Welding (IIW) organizes a conference at which approximately 500-750 scientists from the field of joining technology meet and exchange information on current research topics. This year the conference took place from 07-12 July in Bratislava. The LWF® was represented by two research assistants who gave contributions regarding to the fatigue strength of resistance spot welded steel joints, to the spot welding (bonding) of aluminium joints and to the thermal joining of hybrid materials.
The enclosed photo was taken during a meeting of the "Young Professionals", who were supported by DVS in cooperation with some sponsors for this trip. One research assistant of the LWF® was part of this program. At this point the LWF® would like to thank the sponsors!
