The Research and Technology Center for Resource Efficient Lightweight Structures for Electric Mobility (FOREL) has published an interactive white paper entitled “Mastering complexity - Closing loops - Socio-technical systems for resource-efficient lightweight technologies”. It addresses digitalization in engineering and production processes, identifies both technological and digital challenges and approaches and derives recommendations for action. The focus is on the transformation of the economy into a circular economy as well as the advancing digitalization and the associated technological and social changes.
The Laboratory for Materials and Joining Technology (LWF®) at Paderborn University is significantly contributing in this project. The LWF is providing fundamental and application- relevant results with focus on the new and further development of mechanical, adhesive bonding, thermal and hybrid joining technologies for joining new lightweight materials in multi-material design. The focus is on technologies for the efficient implementation and optimization of joining processes for resource- efficient high-performance composite systems in the electromobility sector.
The interactive whitepaper is available online at plattform-forel.de/whitepaper/booklet/ alongside other digital content and in-depth sub-whitepapers.
