The 18th Erlangen Hot Sheet Metal Forming Workshop took place on 14 November 2023 (www.lft.fau.de/18-erlanger-workshop-warmblechumformung). In the LWF's contribution, a solution approach for semi-tubular punch riveting of hot-formed, ultra-high-strength steels in increased thicknesses was presented. Increasing joining part strengths and thicknesses place ever greater demands on the semi-tubular self-pierce rivet. By modifying the properties of the rivet material, the range of applications for semi-tubular self-pierce riveting has been successfully extended.
