New research project "DigiBody - Digital Process Chain for the Design and Optimization of Joining Technology in Structural Bodies" starts at the Laboratory for Material and Joining Technology (LWF)

At the Laboratory for Material and Joining Technology (LWF), a new research project is starting with the project "DigiBody - Digital Process Chain for the Design and Optimization of Joining Technology in Structural Bodies". Real production, product and operating information in vehicle development and their interactions are considered. The vision is a fully adhesively bonded body-in-white. The "DigiBody" project is made up of ARENA2036 partners and other leading companies in the joining sector in the German research and SME landscape. The ARENA2036 research campus - "Active Research Environment for the Next Generation of Automobiles" - is a cooperation platform in which various partners from science and industry are working together on innovative future topics relating to production and lightweight construction. "DigiBody" serves as a publicly funded supplementary project to ARENA2036. The project leader of the overall project is Daimler AG with the other project partners DYNAmore GmbH, inpro GmbH, Paderborn University (LWF), University of Stuttgart (IFB) and DDP Speciality Products Germany GmbH & Co. KG as an associated project partner.

The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) and TÜV Rheinland as the public project-executing agency. It has a duration of 3 years.
