On 3 and 4 December 2019 the 9th Symposium " Mechanical Joining Technology Research" will take place in Braunschweig. This year's event will be hosted by the Niedersächsisches Forschungszentrum Fahrzeugtechnik (NFF) in Braunschweig in cooperation with the Institut Werkzeugmaschinen und Fertigungstechnik (IWF) and the Institut Füge- und Schweißtechnik (ifs) of the Technische Universität Braunschweig. The symposium on mechanical joining technology of the EFB, FOSTA and the DVS Research Association has grown to become a permanent event in the joining industry. With the development of new material grades and the increasing use of hybrid joining technologies, joining technology is also called upon to develop new solutions for these challenges. The LWF is represented again this year in Braunschweig with numerous papers. In total, the LWF is involved in more than ten presentations.
Current mechanical joining technology projects are dedicated to the most urgent fields of development and benefit from the funding system for joint industrial research (IGF) of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) and the "Otto von Guericke" e. V. industrial research association. (AiF).
