Mobility of the future - lightweight design experts present the technology demonstrator from several research projects as part of the FOREL Symposium in Dresden

At this year's FOREL Colloquium, the Research and Technology Centre for resource-efficient lightweight structures in electric mobility brought together scientists and industry representatives from the lightweight design and vehicle industry sector. The focus was on the latest manufacturing technologies for function-integrative lightweight design in multi-material design. The ceremonial highlight was the unveiling of the FOREL MockUp.

The Laboratory for material and joining technology provided the know-how for the joining technologies of the future in four completed technology projects. The individual technology projects will be combined in the primary coordination project FOREL.

Within the scope of the projects SamPa, ReLei, LeiKa and ProLei demonstrators were developed, which have now been combined in the FOREL MockUp.

The result was a vehicle siluette containing the underbody structure (LeiKa), the hat shelf (ReLei) and the inner door structure (SamPa).
