Due to the measures to contain the coronavirus, both the University of Paderborn and our partner universities, including Qingdao University of Science and Technology (QUST), are in a state of emergency. This also affects the mb-cn program, and unfortunately we cannot guarantee that the Summerschool will take place as usual in September 2020. However, in order to be able to start the mb-cn program in the winter semester anyway, we have prepared a "Plan B". In this case, the Summerschool will be replaced by a "Springschool" or spring school in March 21. The course "Chinese 1" will then take place in Paderborn at WiSe20/21 and "Chinese 2" will be taught at the CDTF. We would like to ask all interested students to include this procedure in their course planning at an early stage and hope that your interest in the mb-cn program will continue despite the expected change in schedule.
The decision as to whether a "Plan B" will be effective or whether the Summerschool can still take place in 2020 currently depends strongly on the measures taken by Germany and China to contain the coronavirus. We therefore ask you to include "Plan B" in any case.
Unfortunately, it is not possible at the moment to foresee how long we will be in this situation. Therefore we ask for understanding and consideration in this extraordinary time.
