Annual meeting of the ProcessNet subject divisions Fluid Separations and Membrane Technology, March 8th-10th, 2017, in Cologne

Prof. Kenig, Steve Flechsig, Alexander Olenberg, Mark Piper, Alexander Salten and Tim Wolf took part at the annual meeting of the ProcessNet subject divisions Fluid Separations and Membrane Technology held in Cologne from March 8th to 10th, 2017. Alexander Olenberg gave an oral presentation with the title „CFD-simulations of two-phase flow in representative elements of stuctured packings“. Furthermore, Steve Flechsig, Mark Piper, Alexander Salten and Tim Wolf presented posters on „Application of sandwich packings for the CO2-absorption in aqeous amin solutions“, „Experimental investigations on the flow in a transparent pillow-plate channel from the laminar to the turbulent state“,  „A new approach for the description of transport phenomena in random packings“ and „Investigation on the separation behaviour of non-newtonian polymer solutions in packed columns“.

In addition, Johanna Sohr from TU Dresden gave an oral presentation titled: „Investigation on heterogenous Flow patterns in Sandwich packings using ultrafast X-ray tomography: Method and validation“ which was prepared in collaboration with our team. Ms. Sohr works together with Mr. Flechsig on a DFG-project on Sandwich packings. Both contributions complemented each other very well and aroused the interest of the comunity.

With this significant number of contributions, our chair was perfectly represented and contributed to lively discussions with quite a positive feedback.
