Workshop on the topic “Complex Multiphase Systems“

On April 11th, 2016, a workshop about “Complex Multiphase Systems“ was organised by our chair. We were happy to welcome Prof. Kuipers, head of the “Research Group Multiphase Reactors”  from the University of Technology in Eindhoven, as well as three of his staff members to the workshop.

During the day, eight presentations and many discussions on different topics in the field of “Complex Multiphase Systems” formed the main part of the workshop. Among other topics, both chairs talked about numerical and experimental investigations in the field of bubble columns, the simulation of the flow of viscoelastic fluids in porous media, simulations of fluid flow in structured packings as well as, in general, modelling and simulation of transport processes in two-phase systems.

The different presentations, held by members of both chairs, resulted in intensive discussions that continued also during the intermediate coffee breaks as well as the dinner.
