Vom 12. bis zum 15. März 2015 unternahm unser Lehrstuhl einen Ausflug nach Rom. Am ersten Tag begaben wir uns nach erfolgter Ankunft und einer Stärkung im Restaurant in den nördlichen Teil von Rom, wo wir die Spanische Treppe und den Piazza del Popolo besichtigten. The Chair of fluid process engineering invited interested students to participate in a one-day trip to a refinery of BP in Lingen. Our host produces mineral oil products like jet fuel, diesel fuel, gasoline and LPG. The participants gained an insight to the company and had the opportunity to visit industrial plants. We are grateful to BP Lingen for the opportunity and the kind service.

The three-volume series „Distillation“ (Elsevier, 2014) has won the 2015 PROSE award in the Chemistry & Physics category. Professor Kenig has made an essential contribution to this success. At the end of October our chair hosted the two-day internal final meeting of the EU project CAPSOL, which started in November 2011 with twelve partners in six countries. The objective of this project was to identify highly performing solvents in CO2 absorption, to design innovative separation equipment internals and to develop optimal process configurations in order to reduce the costs dramatically.
