Last week, Tobias Lieneke and Michael Haase from our department attended the 21st Rapid.Tech 3D in Erfurt. The trade fair impressively demonstrated how much the world of additive manufacturing is evolving:
Hybrid manufacturing solutions, automated process chains and functionally integrated components were the focus of many lectures and exhibitor presentations.
Our impressions of the event confirm:
Design remains the key to the success of additive manufacturing. Only through targeted design can the full technical potential and economic advantages of AM be realised - a focus that we as a department have been pursuing in research and teaching for many years.
As always, the dialogue with industry and research partners was inspiring - we look forward to the next impulses!
