"360° - from Engineering to Production" is the company motto of Heggemann AG and stands for the realization of the complete value chain in product development and safeguarding as well as in the design and industrialization of quantity-optimized manufacturing processes. Students of the LWF lecture "Joining of lightweight structures" as well as student employees of the LWF got an impressive insight into this during an excursion to Heggemann AG in Büren on 03.07.2023.
Development manager Dr.-Ing. Thomas Meyer first introduced the company and then gave a closer look at the different production areas during a plant tour. The participants were particularly impressed by the broad product portfolio with a wide variety of annual production quantities and the associated expertise for the diverse manufacturing and joining processes with a focus on aerospace. The tour concluded with a visit to the drop test stand for aircraft structures and landing gears with a drop height of up to 8 m and a drop mass of up to 15 t in the purpose-built test hall. Before the return journey, the excursion participants had the opportunity to discuss the impressions gained during a joint lunch snack. The LWF thanks Dr.-Ing.
