ACHEMA 2015, 15-19 JUNE 2015, Frankfurt

From June 17th to June 19th, the Chairs of “Fluid Process Engineering”, “Particle Technology” and “Thermodynamics and Energy Technology” hosted an excursion to ACHEMA at Frankfurt for a group of students. ACHEMA can be considered as the world's leading exhibition for chemical engineering and the process industry. While students could explore the exhibition on their own, the chairs also offered several guided tours for the students where special subjects were explored at different exhibition stands.

Furthermore, our Chair participated in the accompanying conference. Research results were presented in the course of a special session dedicated to the BMBF joint project InnovA2, where Mark Piper gave an oral presentation with the title „A design approach for pillow-plate heat exchangers and an analysis of their thermo-hydraulic performance based on numerical results“ and Julian Tran with the title „Modelling of heat transfer and fluid dynamics in pillow-plate condensers based on experimental investigations“. In addition, Alexander Olenberg gave an oral presentation with the title “Development of an optimisation approach for structured packings based on numerical investigations” in another session.
