Progress in the Re²Pli project: Project meeting and tour of the press-hardening line in Paderborn

On 25 March 2026, the partners of the Re²Pli research project gathered for a project meeting in Paderborn. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the current progress of the project, present the results achieved so far and coordinate the next steps.

A particular highlight was the tour of the production line in the test facility of the Y-Hall at the University of Paderborn: participants were able to see the current status for themselves and witness that both the press and the transport system are now successfully in operation. This marked an important milestone on the path to an energy-efficient and flexible process chain, which is intended to enable the sustainable production of press-hardened parts in the future.

In addition, current work results were presented and discussed. Topics included the integration of renewable energies into the production process and the use of real-time data to make energy consumption as efficient and sustainable as possible. The Re²Pli decision-support system also contributes to this, as it enables hourly energy prices to be taken into account, thereby allowing economic and ecological potential to be better exploited.

At the conclusion of the project meeting, the results presented were reviewed collectively and the next steps were defined. The progress made in commissioning the individual system components, such as the induction system and the transport system, was viewed particularly positively. The meeting once again demonstrated how closely and successfully the partners in the Re²Pli project are working together to drive forward the transition to sustainable and resource-efficient production.
