On February 27, 2018 Malte Strop successfully completed his doctoral studies on "Design of an intelligent operation strategy for multi-motor drive systems and their application in internal natural rubber mixers". Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Dr. h.c. Kay Hameyer, head of the Institute of Electrical Machines at the RWTH Aachen, was his co-advisor.

On July 22, 2015, 19 participants started on this year’s excursion of the Chair of Design and Drive Engineering (KAt) to visit Karl E. Brinkmann GmbH (KEB), REINTJES GmbH and Lenze SE. On July 24th, 2013 the Chair of Design and Drive Engineering headed by Professer Zimmer went on a two-day excursion. The Chair, staff members, a number of student assistants and interested students started out on a tour to expand their knowledge in the field of drive engineering.
