Research focus

Our research focuses on electromechanical drives. Primary subjects are resource efficiency, power density and modularity. Currently, we are working on the following tasks:

Drive systems

  • Modular electromechanical drive concepts for industrial applications
  • Optimization of the dynamic behavior of electromechanical spindle lifting cylinders
  • Increase in efficiency by implementation of multi-motor drive systems

  • Autonomous drive engineering through sensor fusion for an intelligent, simulation-based monitoring and control of manufacturing plants

Drive Components

  • Energy-efficient spring-applied brake

  • High-speed friction on brake pads

  • Characterization of spring-applied brakes
