On September 19, 2019, Nils-Peter Kriegel successfully completed his doctoral studies on "Design of an energy-efficient actuator and holding system in a spring-applied brake". Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gunter Kullmer, chair of Applied Mechanics at Paderborn University, was his co-advisor. Mr. Kriegel was a member of the scientific staff at KAt from February 2006 to April 2014, the last one and a half years in the position of academic counsil. In addition to his research and teaching obligation, he spent an academic and research semester at the CDTF in Qingdao, focussing his research and development tasks on industrial brake technology in electro-mechanical drive systems.
As of Mai 2014, Mr. Kriegel teaches theory at the vocational training school Georg-von-Langen in Holzminden.
