On the 27.06.2018 the jubilee celebration for the 50th anniversary of the Reasearch Association for Steel Application (FOSTA) took place in Berlin. As a joint organization FOSTA represents the interests of the steel industries and contributes to innovative solutions in the field of steel application research as motivator and community.
Die diesjährige Verleihung des Stahl-Innovationspreises fand im Rahmen des Stahldialoges 2018, bei der u.a. der Bundeswirtschaftsminister Peter Altmaier eine Gastrede gehalten hat, in Berlin statt. Dabei wurden Innovationen ausgezeichnet, die den Werkstoff Stahl nutzen oder weiterentwickeln.
Am Mittwoch, den 11.07.2018, findet ab 18.00 Uhr das LWF-Sommerfest 2018 im Innenhof der Gebäude P1 – P6 statt. Alle Studierende der Fakultät für Maschinenbau sind herzlich eingeladen, sich bei Bier und Hot-Dogs über die Tätigkeiten des LWF, Themen für Studien- und Abschlussarbeiten sowie über Promotionsmöglichkeiten zu informieren.
Auf Initiative des Freundeskreis LWF Universität Paderborn e. V. wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit der Stiftung Studienfonds OWL ein Maschinenbaustipendium für Flüchtlinge an unserer Universität eingerichtet.
The Seminar took place between October 12th and 13th in Bremen. This year 13 postgraduates and their supervising professors from five different universities or Fraunhofer Institutions followed the invitation of this year’s host Fraunhofer IFAM. The LWF was represented by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gerson Meschut and the scientific staff Tobias Aubel, Jan Ditter and Michael Ditz.
From September 3 to 6, 2017 the whole chair of LWF met for its annual strategy meeting in Vienna. Within the scope of this meeting, workshops were held on the strategic direction and goals of the LWF. Moreover, future optimization potentials and recommendations for action were identified. The results were generated by the employees under the leadership of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gerson Meschut.
On July 27, 2017 an excursion to the Volkswagen plant in Wolfsburg took place. Employees and students of the LWF were given the chance to get an insight into the production of the VW Golf and VW Tiguan.
Am 19. Juni 2017 fand im Rahmen der Vorlesungsveranstaltung "Beschichtungstechnik" eine Exkursion zur HDO Druckguß- und Oberflächentechnik GmbH in Paderborn statt.
Experten aus Forschung und Praxis haben sich am Forschungsvorhaben „Effiziente Mischbauweisen für Leichtbau-Karosserien“, Projektakronym LEIKA, beteiligt. Das gemeinsame Ziel ist hierbei die Entwicklung einer neuartigen Bauweise für Fahrzeuge im Bereich der Elektromobilität. Das Ergebnis wurde auf der Automotive Engineering Expo (AEE) 2017 vom 30.-31. Mai auf dem Messestand des LWF vorgestellt.
