SECUR-ED
SECured URban transportation - European Demonstration
Promoter: EU FP7-SEC
Duration: 01.04.2011 - 30.09.2014
Description
SECUR-ED is a demonstration project under the European FP7-programme with the main objective to provide a set of tools to improve urban transport security. The consortium of 40 partners covers all relevant stakeholder in Europe. Based on best-practices, SECUR-ED integrates a consistent, interoperable mix of technologies and processes, covering all aspects; from risk assessment to complete training packages. SECUR-ED’s rationale is to create a Europe-wide improvement in mass transportation security through the development of packaged modular solutions validated through the demonstrations (in Berlin, Madrid, Mailand and Paris in total plus additional satellite demonstrations).
The chair C.I.K. of the University of Paderborn analysis in this context existing simulation systems towards their applicability in underground stations to enhance security. Therefore the State-of-the-Art of different simulation types (e.g., person flow simulations and fire propagation simulations) is surveyed, their adaptability examined and an appropriate selection recommended. Thus the C.I.K. supports activities to define scenario for the 'demonstration' set-up and to integrate relevant simulation models.
Objectives
- Global European enhancement in the field of security within mass transportation on basis of developments in modular solutions validated in demonstrations (especially in Berlin, Paris, Milan und Madrid)
- Definition and implementation of an interoperable language architecture as well as a description of tools and guidelines for the modelling and simulation of specific threat situations
Work Packages of the C.I.K.
- Anaylsis and recommendation of adequate simulation tools to enhance security in mass transport systems
- Development of a modelling and simulation platform
Project partly funded by EU FP7 under GA n°261605
