On 5 June, the Köckerling agricultural machinery factory opened its doors for a factory tour for our Chair of Data Management in Mechanical Engineering.
Here we took the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of the ultra-modern production of agricultural machinery for soil cultivation, seed sowing and grassland maintenance.
During a guided tour of the production halls, we were given fascinating insights into the manufacturing process, from frame construction as a welded structure, through preparation for powder coating, to assembly and final inspection.
The high vertical range of manufacture and quality standards with extremely sophisticated variant design and the additional incorporation of digital technologies into the agricultural machinery for efficient soil cultivation attracted a great deal of interest in order to see the innovations from the fields of digitalisation and sustainability from the university environment in applied practice.
We would like to thank Köckerling for the exciting insights and look forward to further contact!
