Forming technology 1 (exercise)
Aim of the event:
The exercises supplement and deepen what has been learnt in the lecture. For example, sample calculations are used to demonstrate fields of application for the fundamentals of plasticity theory. Practical exercises on deep drawing and pressing impart further knowledge of sheet metal forming processes. Students are familiarised with experimental methods, test planning and data acquisition.

Target group:
Students of mechanical engineering, industrial engineering and teaching degree programmes.
Content:
The aim is to strengthen participants' basic understanding of forming manufacturing processes, such as deep drawing, by means of appropriately designed experiments. The course is designed to complement the lecture. The course focuses on:
- Theoretical principles of deep drawing
- Determination of a process window
- Analytical investigation of failure cases
- Influence of process parameters
- Determination of mechanical parameters
- Handling machines and measurement technology
