Forming Technology 1 (Lecture)
Lecturer: Prof. Dr Werner Homberg
Type of event: Lecture
Organisational unit: Mechanical engineering
Display in the timetable: UT1
Language of instruction: English
Min. | Max. Number of participants: - | -
Prerequisites / Recommendations:
Fundamentals of production engineering
Aim of the course:
The students have received an introduction to forming technology as well as knowledge of the theoretical principles. This enables them to answer fundamental questions based on an understanding of tribological and material-technical relationships in forming technology, with the addition of material models. Furthermore, students are familiar with the most important forming processes, the underlying characteristics and typical applications. Accordingly, they will be able to select suitable forming processes for specific forming problems and evaluate them on the basis of their properties, e.g. economic efficiency, accuracy, environmental compatibility. Special skills are acquired in the field of plasticity theory, deep drawing, rolling, bending and the determination of characteristic values (tensile test, cupping test).
