Introduction to Additive Manufacturing & Manufacturing Technology (Lecture)
Aim of the event:
Students know the basics of additive manufacturing as well as the most important process principles and can explain them. They will be able to categorise and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the various additive manufacturing processes in comparison to conventional manufacturing processes. Students have a basic knowledge of machining, forming and joining manufacturing processes and are able to categorise the basic properties such as manufacturing accuracy and surface quality of manufacturing processes. They are familiar with the conceptual and theoretical principles and interrelationships of manufacturing technology in order to understand overarching problems. On this basis, students will be able to select and explain suitable manufacturing processes for the requirements placed on a product to be manufactured, particularly against the background of sustainability.
