Press hardening of pipes and profiles using mouldless solid materials
Overview
The aim of this short project is to investigate the potential use of shapeless solid materials as pressure media for the press hardening of pipes and profiles. Due to the physical properties of shapeless solid materials, it is to be expected that the use of shapeless solid materials
- enables the press hardening of large-volume and complex profile structures,
- ensures a high level of safety at work,
- high cooling rates due to a high contact pressure between the workpiece and
- thus enabling a robust manufacturing process.
