Production technology for lightweight construction (exercise)
Aim of the event:
The knowledge learnt is deepened through supplementary exercises. For example, calculations are used to demonstrate fields of application for the fundamentals of plasticity theory and assessment methods for lightweight structures. The exercises are complementary to the lecture and are part of the examination.

Min. | Max. Number of participants: - | -
Target group:
Students of mechanical engineering, industrial engineering and teaching degree programmes.
Content:
Supplementary exercises to the lecture series on production technology for lightweight construction will deepen and practically apply the knowledge learnt. For example, sample calculations are used to demonstrate fields of application for the fundamentals of plasticity theory. Practical exercises on deep drawing are used to illustrate further knowledge of sheet metal forming processes. Participants will also be familiarised with experimental methods, test planning and data acquisition. Machining processes will also be illustrated. Topics of the exercise are in particular:
- Theoretical understanding of plasticity and stress states
- Lightweight construction
- Mechanical parameters
- Process window for deep drawing processes
- Machining
