From May 7 to 8, international experts gathered in Porto for the 3rd International Conference on “Engineering Manufacture” to discuss the latest research findings and developments in the field of manufacturing technology.
The Chair of Forming Technology (LUF) was represented this year by research associate Ansgar Nordieker. In a presentation, he outlined his research on material flow during joining with adaptive friction elements, which was conducted within the context of the DFG Collaborative Research Center TRR285. His presentation enriched the scientific exchange with current research findings and met with great interest among the participants.
The conference was held in Porto, Portugal’s second-largest city, which, with its historic old town, its location on the Douro River, and its maritime flair, provided a unique setting for intensive scientific exchange and international networking. The historic port city is also known for its vibrant cultural scene and its blend of history and modern urbanity.
Enriched by a variety of professional insights, new international contacts, and valuable inspiration for his future research and teaching, Ansgar Nordieker subsequently began his return journey to the Paderborn campus.
