LUF at ESAFORM 2026 in Thessaloniki

The 29th International ESAFORM Conference, held in Thessaloniki from April 27 to 29, 2026, welcomed an international audience of experts to share the latest research findings in the field of forming technology.

The Chair of Metal Forming Technology (LUF) was represented this year by research associate Steffen Gabsa, who presented his research in a poster presentation. With his contribution on friction-induced recycling of aluminum chips (DFG), he brought current findings to the technical discussion and generated considerable interest within the scientific community.

The conference took place in Thessaloniki, one of Greece’s most important port cities with a rich history and vibrant cultural scene, and its seaside location provided an attractive setting for intensive professional exchange and international networking.

Steffen Gabsa returned to the campus in Paderborn with new contacts, fresh ideas, and the motivation to incorporate the insights gained into future research and teaching activities.
