Competence Centre for Sustainable Energy Technology (KET)
The actual challenges in the area of climate and resource protection are forcing the manufacturing and processing industry to consider lasting economic and ecological aspects. New demands for a lasting production, a change and a rational use of required energy arise from it. This is why the University of Paderborn has founded the Kompetenzzentrum für Nachhaltige Energietechnik (KET) in 2012 in cooperation with the faculty of mechanical engineering and the faculty of electrical engineering, informatics and mathematics. With intelligent technical system solutions in mind, the KET deals with trendsetting cooperation projects. The focus is layed on electricity supply optimization, efficient cooling of mechanical and electronic components, renewable energy, cogenerating systems as well as efficient CO2-Capturing. The KET is well known for being a competent contact in terms of the development of innovative technologies, which shall increase the efficiency of existing processes.
