Vertiefungsberatung
Die Vertiefungsberatung bietet ein persönliches, individuelles Beratungsgespräch zu den einzelnen Vertiefungsrichtungen und Studienschwerpunkten des Maschinenbaus. Sie wird von zehn Vertiefungsberatern und -beraterinnen durchgeführt, die jeweils eine Vertiefungsrichtung objektiv und über das Lehrveranstaltungsangebot ihres Lehrstuhls hinaus repräsentieren.
Specialisation Consultation
The Specialisation Consultation offers a personal, individual consultation on the individual specialisations and major fields of study in mechanical engineering. The specialisation consultation is carried out by nine specialisation advisors, each of whom represents a specialisation objectively and beyond the courses offered by their department.
When should you visit the specialisation consultation?
- It is highly recommended that you attend the specialisation consultation in the fourth Bachelor's semester and before the transition to the Master's degree programme, when you have to decide on your basic and compulsory elective modules.
- If you have any questions about the design of your personal study programme or would like advice on creating your individual study plan.
- If you are unsure which specialisation best suits your inclinations and abilities, you can of course ask several specialisation advisors for support in making your decision.

Information events are usually held before the start of each semester to provide an overview and make it easier for students to choose their specialisation programme. This is also a good opportunity to get to know the specialisation advisors. The next dates can be found below and in the announcement box on the right.

Die Infoveranstaltung zu den Vertiefungsrichtungen und die – insbesondere für Bachelorabsolventen von anderen Hochschulen – anschließende PAUL-Einführung im Rahmen der Orientierungsphase (kurz: O-Phase) findet am Montag, den 06. Oktober 2025 um 13:30 Uhr bis ca. 15:30 Uhr in Raum P 1 4.17 statt (im Anschluss an die Erstsemesterbegrüßung durch die Fakultät ab 9 Uhr im Hörsaal L1 und das Programm von Fachschaft MB bzw. HG Wing). Dort können Sie die Vertiefungsberater persönlich kennenlernen und gleich einen Termin für ein Beratungsgespräch im weiteren Verlauf der O-Woche vereinbaren.

Master-O-Phase (PANDA course)

Among other things, the specialisation advisors introduce themselves and their specialisations in a video message and look forward to your questions - either in the forum or in person using the contact options provided.
