On 16 May, the annual general meeting of the Verein zur Förderung der Kunststofftechnologie e.V. (Association for the Promotion of Plastics Technology) took place at the University of Paderborn. The association pursues the goal of supporting application-oriented development in the field of plastics technology through intensive cooperation between Paderborn Plastics Technology and industry. The general meeting serves the common exchange of experience and information between the members and the reporting on the association. At the meeting, reports were given on the association's activities in 2018, the REX/PSI and SIGMA software projects, the economic development of the association and Kunststofftechnik Paderborn, and current and future research topics.
Subsequently, two scientific staff members of the KTP gave presentations on the following research topics:
- Fibre damage modelling in the injection moulding process (Franziska Bürenhaus).
- Characterisation of the distributive mixing quality on the basis of CFD and the Delauney triangulation (Maximilian Frank)
