Our NIWI Chair becomes part of the ILH

The Chair of Sustainable Industrialisation and Resilient Infrastructure (NIWI) at Paderborn University is now officially part of the Institute for Lightweight Structures with Hybrid Systems (ILH). This collaboration will strengthen interdisciplinary research by integrating the Chair's expertise in the field of sustainable industrialisation and resilient infrastructures into the ILH network.

The ILH brings together expertise from the fields of mechanical engineering, chemistry and physics to develop innovative solutions for the future. It comprises numerous specialised groups, including Coatings, Materials and Polymers (CMP), Data Management in Mechanical Engineering (DMB), Plastics Technology Paderborn (KTP), Lightweight Automotive Engineering (LiA), Forming and Machining Technology (LUF), Materials and Joining Technology (LWF), Materials Science (LWK), Nanostructuring and Nanoanalytics (NNP), Structural and Materials Mechanics (SWM) and Technical and Macromolecular Chemistry (TMC). The inclusion of NIWI will strengthen collaboration at a scientific level and intensify the exchange between the teams.

With over 170 scientists, the ILH is working on pioneering technologies to develop sustainable solutions in lightweight construction and hybrid constructions.
