Manufacturing Technology
Today, production engineering is often the key to the efficient, resource-saving manufacture of innovative, novel products with high utility value. Production engineering deals with the further development of production technology, the design of processes, tools and machines. As part of the Production Engineering specialisation, you will gain an overview of the entire process chain, from design and method planning to production and the final metrological evaluation of the process chain. You will familiarise yourself with the most important tool and machine tool technologies as well as the most important components of a machine tool and their structure. You will learn about the possibilities and limitations of forming, cutting and joining manufacturing processes and will be able to independently work on specific manufacturing issues relating to the use of various manufacturing technologies, develop proposed solutions and estimate the quality of the end products in advance.
