A product development engineer is able, drawing on specialist knowledge and methodological expertise, to shape the product development process from both a technical and an organisational perspective. This includes cross-disciplinary planning and conceptualisation of innovative products, the associated design work, the use of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Product Data Management (PDM), as well as in-depth knowledge of applied mechanics and design. During the course, you will learn how a systematic approach, design, creativity and cooperation interact within the development process. You will acquire the methodological and technical expertise required to participate in and lead development projects. Engineers apply this knowledge to optimally design components (e.g. a drive shaft) or even complex systems (e.g. a printing press or a lift system).
