On September 26 and 27, the 5th Aspherix® & CFDEM® Conference of DCS Computing took place in Vienna. Numerous informative presentations on particle simulations and coupling methods were held at the Haus der Ingenieure. The software is used in a wide range of applications, from the simulation of moon landings to the simulation of pharmaceutical powders in water. At the invitation of the organizer,Laura Austermeier gave a presentation on her research and how DEM simulations can be used to close existing research gaps in plastics technology. There was also plenty of time to network and discuss the presentations over dinner at the Museum of Art History.
