The LWF was represented at the 78th IIW Annual Meeting and International Conference in Genoa, Italy, from 22 to 27 June 2025.
Organised by the International Institute of Welding (IIW), the event is one of the world's most important forums for scientific and technical exchange in the field of welding technology and brought together nearly 2,000 experts from 53 countries.
Keke Yang presented the LWF's latest research findings and their engineering implementation in a technical lecture entitled ‘Influence of liquid metal embrittlement on the failure behaviour of resistance spot-welded joints with galvanised advanced high-strength steel: A component-level study under crash loading’. The conference also provided an opportunity to further expand international professional exchange.
Special thanks go to the German Association for Welding and Related Processes (DVS), which supported participation through the DVS-IIW Young Professionals 2025 programme, thereby strengthening international networking and the promotion of young talent at the LWF in the long term.
