We are pleased to announce the funding of a research project by the DBU. The project focuses on the "Development of an energy-efficient process for the release agent-free production of aluminium sheets".
The project is a co-operation between Benninghoff Oberflächentechnik GmbH (BENN), the Institute of Surface Technology (IOT) at the TU Braunschweig and the Chair of Materials Science (LWK). The project is scheduled to run for 18 months.
The NIWI Chair plays a decisive role in the ecological assessment of technological development within this network. By carrying out life cycle assessments and detailed energy and material flow measurements, we are supporting the process in order to optimise resource consumption. The aim is to harmonise technological innovation with the requirements of sustainable industrial production.
