Welcome to the NIWI Chair

We warmly welcome Mr. M.Sc. Tamino Donner as a new research associate and doctoral candidate at our chair.

Holding a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Paderborn, Mr. Donner brings solid technical expertise and a spirit of innovation. In his master’s thesis, he developed AI-based, decentralized control strategies for fifth-generation district heating networks.

As part of his doctoral research, he is exploring innovative control concepts for thermal energy networks – a highly relevant field in the context of sustainable energy supply. In addition to his research, he is an active member of the UPB for Future project and contributes to teaching at the chair.

His particular interest lies in the sustainable transformation of the energy sector: with around half of Europe’s total energy consumption used for thermal processes – still largely based on fossil fuels – Mr. Donner sees great potential in optimizing the generation and distribution of thermal energy. With his work, he aims to make a meaningful contribution toward achieving global climate goals.

We look forward to working together and to the fresh perspectives he will bring to our research and teaching efforts!
