KTP Summer Festival, offering insights into research and opportunities for students

On 14 July, the Kunststofftechnik Paderborn (KTP) showcased its work to interested students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering as part of the annual summer festival. In the car park of the O Building, students were able to find out about current research topics at KTP, as well as opportunities for final-year projects and work placements as student assistants or research assistants.

As well as professional discussions, the summer festival also offered hands-on technology: an automatic mini injection moulding machine and a manual injection moulding machine (HoliMaker) provided practical insights into plastics processing and encouraged visitors to get involved.

Food and drink were also provided whilst students and staff mingled. The relaxed atmosphere provided the perfect setting for asking questions, making contacts and getting to know the KTP better.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Mechanical Engineering Students’ Association for lending us the equipment, and to the Institute for Lightweight Construction in Automotive Engineering (LiA) for providing storage facilities.
