KTP to be represented at the FEMS Junior Euromat 2026 in Greece

KTP had a representative at the FEMS Junior Euromat 2026 in Greece

FEMS Junior Euromat 2026 took place in Trikala, Greece, from 12 to 16 July 2026. This international conference is aimed in particular at early-career researchers in the fields of Materials Science and materials engineering, and provides a platform for professional exchange on current developments, research trends and future challenges.

Mohammed Abuzaid attended the conference on behalf of the Department of Kunststofftechnik Paderborn (KTP) and presented his latest research findings during a poster session on the topic:

‘Influence of Thermal Ageing of PA12 Powder on Filament Extrusion and Mechanical Properties in the Fused Filament Fabrication Process’

The paper examined the influence of thermal ageing of PA12 powder on filament extrusion and on the resulting mechanical properties in the Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) process. The results presented were generated as part of the IGF project “Material recycling of used PA12 powder from powder-based additive manufacturing processes using the Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) process”.

In addition to presenting our own work, FEMS Junior Euromat 2026 offered a varied programme of lectures, poster sessions and expert discussions. Participation enabled an exchange with international doctoral candidates and professors, provided expert feedback on our own research, and offered new insights for the ongoing work at the KTP.
